「hare bare -晴々-」

I wrote “Bright and clear,
both nature and humanity.”

Bright means “晴々(hare bare)” in japanese.

In our current surroundings, there is constant anxiety due to wars, disasters, pandemics, and more. There are many things beyond our control.

Yet, even so, I want to remain resolute, serene.

Fleeting but resilient, beautiful, precious, and serene.

●About Decorative Artwork

I commissioned ‘Rinne’ for this decorative piece. Rinne repurposes discarded papers (scraps) generated during artwork production to create panels, frames, scrolls, etc. Each piece is meticulously crafted by a single artisan.

In recent times, the term SDGs has gained widespread recognition, marking an era where our perspective and consciousness towards energy and resources need to change. The philosophy of ‘Rin’ precisely aligns with this mindset.

Because, originally, improperly written papers would become waste. For each artwork, the scraps can amount to hundreds or even thousands. The attempt to recycle these discarded papers as valuable resources and create something new is, in my opinion, remarkable. Additionally, in a time when many things are readily available swiftly and easily, ‘Rin’ takes a contrary approach by crafting each piece individually, taking time from the moment a request is received to delivering it to the client.

I am deeply impressed by their sincere approach to craftsmanship.

For this particular piece, I conveyed detailed preferences to enhance the golden material and match it with an elegant color, reminiscent of the beautiful dyed paper from Japan’s Heian period.
